Modernisation of the 400 kV Słupsk – Żarnowiec overhead power line

The last month at the project “Modernisation of the 400kV Słupsk – Żarnowiec power line” was very intense. Thanks to the efficient cooperation of #AltergaTeam, it was possible to shut down the overhead power line between 3 and 21 September 2025, which allowed the planned scope of tasks to be completed.

The biggest challenge was the replacement of phase conductors in three tension sections, which required the use of an innovative solution involving the connection of two so-called crocodiles. In addition, the entire team showed extraordinary commitment and in just 19 days the following was completed:

• adjustment of phase conductor sag in nine tension sections (over 32 kilometres of line)
• 7 power poles were reinforced
• chains were replaced with new ones at 21 places (42 chains)
• 21 poles were painted with duplex and 5 with a primer coat
• 11 foundations were repaired
• damaged insulators were replaced at 143 stations
