Extension of the 110 kV Nurmijärvi substation in Finland

We have recently started activities related to the extension of the Nurmijärvi 110 kV substation in Finland. To begin with, we planned:

• primary works, consisting of the installation of structures and apparatus in two bays of the 110 kV switchyard
• telecommunications work, involving the laying of four fibre-optic cables between the substation building and the line gates of the 110 kV switchgear, and installation of equipment in the telecommunications cabinets in the substation building

We worked in three teams, with two HDS trucks, four basket lifts and a forklift.

Our work took place on shutdowns – one by one we shut down three busbar systems and an adjacent field for safety reasons. Thanks to the great commitment of the #EltelNetworksTeam, we carried out the planned work according to the investor’s schedule.

As part of the ongoing foreign project, three more work visits to Finland await our employees – in July, August and September/October 2024.
