New contract – expansion of the Chmielów substation

New contract – expansion of the Chmielów substation

The expansion and modernisation of the 220/110 kV Chmielów substation will take place at one of the key facilities in the south-eastern part of the National Power System. The project investor is PSE S.A., and the comprehensive implementation is scheduled to take 40 months.

The scope of work for #AltergaTeam includes, amongst other things, the expansion and refurbishment of the 220 kV and 110 kV switchyards, the construction of new bays, the relocation of metering systems, and the dismantling of elements of the existing infrastructure.

One of the most important stages of the new investment will be the construction and commissioning of 220 kV and 110 kV busbars. These solutions will increase the capacity to connect energy partners and enhance the substation’s operational reliability.

The project also includes the expansion of secondary circuits, control and monitoring systems, telecommunications, metering systems and substation automation.

A significant part of the project will involve infrastructure and construction works on an operational power facility, such as macro- and micro-levelling of the site, reconstruction of sections of internal roads, modernisation of cable ducts, lighting and earthing systems, and the adaptation of rooms in the control building for new technical functions.

#AltergaTeam will also be responsible for the full range of formal and legal procedures, acceptance inspections, testing and commissioning. This is yet another project in which we combine our design, construction and engineering expertise to support the development of transmission infrastructure in Poland.

Well done #AltergaTeam! Congratulations!
